Constructor University racing team enters AI-powered Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL)

Under the unified banner of innovation, Constructor Technology and Constructor University set to compete with one of the world’s best autonomous racing teams.

 

Bremen, Germany - March 22, 2024 – Constructor University racing team enters the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL) with first race taking place 27th April. Previously Constructor Autonomous participated and won the Roborace Racing Series and is now making an entry in the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL) on 27th April at the iconic Yas Marina Circuit.

 

This initiative highlights Constructor’s commitment to becoming a leader in autonomous racing, where their state-of-the-art AI model will go head-to-head against the top models in the world in one of the most prestigious autonomous racing events.

 

Organised by ASPIRE the business development and program management arm of Abu Dhabi’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), the A2RL Championship is a global platform for the advancement of autonomous vehicle technology. It brings together the brightest minds to push the boundaries of what's possible in AI-driven mobility, and to make autonomous racing even more entertaining than live racing. Constructor’s involvement underlines its commitment to pioneering research and real-world applications.

 

All competing vehicles will race each other head-to-head on the racetrackUnlike other championships where the autonomous vehicles navigate the circuit one at a time, this one is a true test of the . These Super Formula cars of each competing team are all exactly the same - Dallara SF23 and are all equipped with the same sensor stack. The challenge for every competitor is to develop and fine-tune racing software that excels in control, path planning, and obstacle avoidance.
