Manage the content flow in LMS, get activity reports

Check the new content flow management inside LMS, created for the flexibility of your courses. Now you can configure a set of rules that enable learners to access certain activities and compositions only after they complete the preceding ones. These rules are called gates. 

Conditions for passing a gate are set, depending on a learner’s progress, as follows: 

• Minimum passing score for each activity
• Just a fact of completing an activity (without considering the score) 
• Completion of a composition of activities 

We also added rules for defining how the progress and score in each activity of a composition contribute to the composition overall result.

Learner activity report

This report shows all results for all activities within a composition in custom reports builder as well. This way, instructors can see how well each learner managed with each activity in a course or a program module. 

The report has two views: with activities expanded or collapsed. It allows instructors to select the level of detail for a course or a module they need at the moment.

The learner activity report is available as a part of the Primary and Master report. Instructors and administrators can modify data sets in these reports and save report templates for future reference.

This addition allows authors and learners to easily format their text, seamlessly insert code snippets, equations, and images in their content.

The main features of the rich text editor are:

• Text formatting tools that allow users to easily format text using a range of essential tools (such as font formatting, lists, headings, and so on) to make it visually appealing and engaging.         
• Inline code and code blocks that allow users to incorporate inline code snippets or entire code blocks. This feature helps authors to showcase code and improve its readability.
• Equations and equation blocks that support working with mathematical or scientific content. This enables the insertion of equations and equation blocks, writing complex formulas, mathematical expressions, or scientific notations.       
• Image insertion and positioning that seamlessly integrates images within content that authors create. This feature enables the insertion and positioning of visual aids, diagrams, or illustrations. It enhances the overall visual appeal and provides a comprehensive learning experience.

Question weights 

We introduced the ability to assign different weights to individual questions within quizzes, which provides a more accurate and flexible grading system.

Previously, all questions carried equal weightage in determining the total grade after a learner submitted a quiz. Now authors can assign different weights to each question based on its difficulty level or importance in achieving learning goals..

Hints in quizzes 

Authors now can create hints for individual questions and include them in quizzes, providing learners with valuable assistance and guidance as they progress through their assignments.

Authors have full control over the display of hints within quizzes. They can enable or disable hints for each quiz, depending on the desired level of assistance or the learning objectives of the assignment. This flexibility ensures that hints can be used in a way that best suits the individual needs of both an author and learners.

Grading method in quizzes

This feature allows authors to customize the grading method to align it with their specific evaluation criteria..

Authors now can specify one of these three grading methods to be used for assessing learner responses:

• All or nothing: This method requires learners to provide a fully correct answer in order to receive a positive grade. If any part of the response is incorrect or incomplete, the learner will receive a score of 0. 
• Positive equal weights: This method assigns equal weights to all correct components of an answer. Learners receive positive scores based on the number of correct elements in their response.
• Positive and negative equal weights: This method also assigns equal weights to all components of an answer, but deducts points for each incorrect element. Learners receive scores based on the number of correct components minus the penalties for incorrect ones.
