Overview

We have implemented the following features for the Constructor Proctor SDK:

• Detection of a second monitor on the system check page
• Enhanced mouse-movement detection for exam focus
• Web App camera selection for exams with side-view video

Detecting a second monitor on the system check page

For the SDK, we added the capability to detect connected monitors. If the exam settings prohibit the use of a second monitor, we display a message indicating that a second monitor has been detected. We suggest disabling the second monitor and running the connection check again.

Enhanced mouse-movement detection for exam focus

We added the ability to detect when the mouse cursor moves outside the browser window boundaries. This triggers screen blocking with the "Exam page lost focus" message displayed, which prompts learners to address the issue before proceeding with the exam.

Web App camera selection for exams with side-view video

When Side view mode is enabled in the exam settings and there are two webcams on the computer, learners can choose which camera to use as the main one. This simplifies the verification process and eliminates the need for learners to navigate system settings to designate their main camera. All camera settings are conveniently managed on a single equipment-check screen, providing flexibility for learners to change their main camera if necessary.
