Overview

In this release, we made the following changes:

• Canvas LMS integration with automatic user sync and attendance reporting
• LTI configuration management in Dashboard settings
• Enhanced session interface with improved video conferencing

We also fixed issues affecting cameras, replays, file uploads, Canvas grading, breakout rooms, and the mobile experience.

What's new

Canvas LMS integration with automatic user sync and attendance reporting

We've integrated Constructor Groups with Canvas LMS to support course delivery and automated attendance tracking.

Instructors can now create sessions directly from Canvas courses, and the system automatically provisions users who enroll after the LTI tool is added. After each session, attendance is reported back to Canvas Gradebook as a percentage based on participation time. This reduces manual course setup and attendance tracking for Canvas users.

LTI configuration management in Dashboard settings

Administrators can now manage LTI integrations directly from the Dashboard settings.

The new LTI module centralizes configuration and provides dynamic registration links for LMS platforms beyond Canvas. This makes it easier to set up and maintain LTI connections across different LMS platforms.

Enhanced session interface with improved video conferencing

We've redesigned the session screen interface to provide a more intuitive and reliable video conferencing experience.

The updated interface includes improved camera and microphone controls, better screen sharing behavior, enhanced breakout room management, and more consistent participant interaction tools. These updates make live sessions easier to manage for instructors and easier to join for learners.

Fixed issues

We made the following fixes:

• Cameras after breaks: Fixed an issue where participant cameras froze after a break and required both the microphone and camera to be turned off together before video returned.
• Cameras during breaks: Fixed an issue where participant cameras remained active during breaks and showed frozen images with low FPS notifications.
• Reconnection for cameras and screen sharing: Fixed an issue where cameras, microphones, and screen sharing did not restart automatically after a network disconnection.
• Participant camera controls: Fixed an issue where participants could not close their cameras after an instructor disabled camera permissions.
• Shared files on mobile: Added scroll and zoom support for shared files in both horizontal and vertical mobile views.
• Attendance check while offline: Fixed an issue where the Think Fast attendance check appeared on the offline page.
• Attendance points mismatch: Fixed discrepancies between participant and instructor attendance points in Session Analytics.
• Missing content in session replays: Fixed an issue where replays did not include microphone audio, participant cameras, or shared content.
• Replays with breakout rooms: Fixed an issue where replays stopped or displayed incorrectly when breakout room activity was present.
• Document upload token refresh: Fixed an issue where document upload tokens did not refresh after 10 minutes and blocked uploads.
• Volume controls: Fixed issues with the volume bar where the controls did not fit correctly and sound could not be restored without refreshing the page.
• Screen sharing banner placement: Fixed the You're sharing your screen banner so it no longer appears behind headers and footers when dragged.
• Mobile camera view during question activities: Fixed an issue where part of the user's camera feed was cut off on mobile devices when question activities with images were active.
• Safari voice distortion: Fixed audio distortion during sessions in Safari, especially during multi-user discussions.
• Safari session finish notification: Added the missing sound notification when less than one minute remains in a session for Safari users.
• Question activity interface: Fixed multiple interface issues in question activities, including button sizing, timer validation, and mobile layout behavior.
• Embedded video activities: Fixed an issue where embedded video activities continued playing when a new activity was started from the quick menu.
• LTI error message translations: Added translations for error messages in the LTI settings module so they follow the selected interface language.
• Canvas JWT validation for new learners: Fixed an authentication issue that prevented newly created Canvas learners from accessing courses after assignment.
• Speech indicators in replays: Added speech bars to session replays to show who was speaking.
• Duplicate replay notifications: Fixed an issue where the same notification appeared three times in session replays.
• Future session edit page: Removed the incorrect Recording in progress message that appeared when editing future sessions with auto-recording enabled.
• Interpreter notifications on mobile: Fixed layout issues in interpreter assignment notifications on iOS and Android devices.
• Flow activity numbering: Fixed flow activity numbering so new activities continue the correct sequence after deletions.
• Custom application activities: Fixed naming inconsistencies and added clear error messages for invalid links in custom application activities.
• Canvas grading records: Fixed an issue where the Canvas integration created multiple grading records for the same session.
• Interpreter controls for participants: Added the missing interpretation language selection controls in the footer for participants when an interpreter is assigned.
• Breakout room participant movement: Improved the click area and drag-and-drop behavior for moving participants between breakout rooms.
• Recording indicator for quick sessions: Added the recording notification to quick sessions so participants are informed when recording is active.
• Horizontal mobile layout: Fixed multiple layout issues in horizontal mobile view, including broken sidebars, hidden logos, and scrolling problems.
• Interpreter assignment notifications: Fixed an issue where participants did not receive notifications when instructors assigned interpretation settings.
• Quick activity behavior: Standardized quick menu activity behavior so all selected activities are both added and started automatically.
• Session replay preparing state: Fixed an issue where session replays remained in a preparing state indefinitely and could not be played.
• Interpreter functionality: Fixed multiple interpreter-related issues, including window sizing, button placement, icon display, and language selection.
• Flow activity layout and naming: Corrected spacing, naming, colors, and custom logo behavior in flow activities for better consistency.
• Flow activity behavior: Fixed activity naming during deletion, added scroll support, improved timer validation, and corrected default numbering logic.
• Think Fast on replay pages: Removed Think Fast attendance checks from replay pages.
• Chat message sound notifications: Added sound notifications when users receive chat messages.
• Participant list click areas: Improved click areas in the participant list for banning, unbanning, and search actions.
• Quick sessions in the Canvas calendar: Fixed an issue where quick sessions created from Canvas did not appear in the Canvas calendar.
• Session page layout: Fixed centering and spacing issues on break notes and session finish pages.
• Browser resizing: Fixed an issue where pages did not adapt properly when the browser window size changed or on smaller screens.
• Breakout room drag-and-drop preview: Removed the drag-and-drop preview for participants in breakout rooms, since participants should not be able to move other users.
• Images in question activities: Fixed an issue that prevented instructors from adding images to question activities.
• Clear icon in empty fields: Removed the clear button from empty input fields in activity creation.
• External application activity validation: Added clear error messages when external application activities cannot be saved because of invalid URLs.
• Branding in permission messages: Updated the camera and microphone permission message to use Groups instead of Perculus.
• General design inconsistencies: Fixed various interface issues, including highlight colors, icon sizes, button styling, and pop-up dimensions.
• Turkish translation for breakout rooms: Corrected the Turkish translation for stopped breakout rooms.
• Private chat replies: Removed the private reply option for messages from users who have left the session.
• Duplicate breakout rooms and users: Fixed an issue where starting a new breakout room activity while another was active duplicated rooms and users.
• Language preference persistence: Fixed an issue where language changes in session settings did not persist after a page reload.
• Interpreter button size on mobile: Corrected the interpreter button size on mobile devices to match other buttons.
• Ask everyone to unmute: Fixed the Ask everyone to unmute action so participants receive the notification to unmute.
• Activities during breaks: Prevented learners from creating activities or switching breakout rooms during session breaks.
• Dropdown arrow clipping: Fixed visual clipping on the left edge of the dropdown arrow.
• Canvas timezone synchronization: Fixed timezone synchronization between Canvas and Groups so session times display correctly based on the user's Canvas timezone settings.
• Branding page notifications: Standardized error notifications on the branding page to match the notification style used throughout Dashboard.
• Unread message counter: Fixed the unread message counter so it reflects only messages that have not been read.
• Replay toolbar on the waiting page in Safari: Removed the replay toolbar that incorrectly appeared on the waiting page after finishing a session in Safari.
• Session leave logo quality: Improved the quality of custom session leave logos.
• Screen sharing window size: Fixed the screen sharing window size and resizing behavior when the browser window is reduced or when chat or the participant list is open.
• Support buttons in test environments: Removed non-functional support buttons from test and stage environments where support integration is not configured.
• Session analytics graph in Arabic: Fixed an issue where the participation index graph became distorted when switching from Arabic to another language.
• Uploaded video playback: Fixed an issue that prevented uploaded videos from playing in sessions.
• Canvas integration without configuration: Improved error handling so Canvas integration behaves correctly when configuration is missing.
• Invalid file type in question image upload: Removed PDF as an available option when uploading images for questions.
