Constructor Proctor: December 23, 2025

23 December, 2025

Overview

In this release, we’ve added the following features:

  • Proctor identity shown in the video archive chat
  • Detection of muted microphones in the learner web application
  • Automatic exam password entry for Blackboard
  • Constructor One theme for the learner web application
  • Improved voice detection accuracy

What’s new

Proctor identity shown in the video archive chat

Now the chat between the learner and the proctor in the video archive displays the first and last name (or username) of the proctor who communicated with the learner. This is useful when several proctors were connected to a session and it is necessary to determine exactly who sent a specific message or alert.

Detection of muted microphones in the learner web application

If there is no sound from the learner’s microphone, the system automatically detects this and creates a warning. The warning is sent to the live proctor and recorded in the video archive for subsequent analysis.

Automatic exam password entry for Blackboard

To prevent exams from being taken without proctoring, administrators can configure a password for the exam in Blackboard.

When a learner attempts to start the exam without proctoring, Blackboard prompts for the password. If the learner does not have the password, they will not be able to start the quiz.

For proctored exams, Proctor automatically retrieves the exam password from Blackboard and enters it when the session starts. This allows the learner to begin the exam while ensuring the exam remains protected.

Constructor One theme for the learner web application

We have added a new Constructor One theme for the learner application that uses the same styles, colours, and fonts as the other Constructor applications. This helps unify the learner's journey in the Constructor applications and ensures a consistent experience across different scenarios.

Improved voice detection accuracy

We have updated the voice detection model to improve accuracy. The system now recognises whispers and can identify speech even when background music is playing.

Fixes

We’ve fixed the following issues:

  • Corrected the text of the User Agreement in the Proctor mobile app.
  • Updated Lithuanian translations in the learner web application.
  • Improved the Invite All button behaviour in the Live proctor interface by adding a confirmation modal to warn proctors before inviting all learners to an exam.
