What's new

WebApp

Second camera video monitoring enhancements

We've enhanced the handling of screen blocking if, for any reason, a user's mobile device stops transmitting video. From now on, the screen-blocking modal window can be configured to appear within one minute of the video stopping, as opposed to the previous 2-minute delay.

Enable learners to select a camera for exams

On the verification page, learners can now independently select their preferred cameras for front and side views during exams. This selection is activated when the side-view mode is selected in the exam settings.

Camera selection for exams with side-view video

When the side-view mode is activated in the exam settings and there are two web cameras on the computer, learners can choose which camera to use as the main one. This simplifies the verification process and saves learners from having to navigate through the system settings to designate their primary camera. All camera parameters are conveniently managed on a single equipment check screen, providing flexibility for learners to change their primary camera if necessary.

Hiding quick messages in learner chat

For the user's convenience, buttons containing frequently asked questions from learners to the proctors are now available in the chat. However, recognizing that not all exams require these quick messages, we have added a setting to allow them to be hidden in the chat. This update makes our product more flexible to meet the needs of different customers.

SDK

Detection of the second monitor on the system check page

For the SDK, we've added the ability to detect connected monitors. If the exam settings prohibit the use of a second monitor, we display a message indicating that a second monitor is detected. We suggest you disable the second monitor and check the connection again.

Enhanced mouse movement detection for exam focus

We've added the ability to detect mouse cursor movement outside the boundaries of the browser window. This triggers a screen freeze with the message "Exam page lost focus", prompting learners to resolve the problem before continuing with the exam.

Disable server-side video checks in Company settings

We've introduced an option in the Company settings to disable the double-verification of videos on the Proctoring Server side for a specific company. This option makes it possible to tailor the violation control configuration to each organization.

Simplified Integration with D2L LMS

The use of D2L content is now simplified. Instructors must simply select the desired quiz from the LTI adapter's list of exam resources and configure the proctoring settings.
