Overview

In this release, we added the following features:

• Live speaker indicator with sound spectrum animation
• YouTube playlist support in video sharing

We also fixed issues affecting Moodle LTI session creation, uploads, audio, replays, Safari display, and session layout behavior.

What's new

Live speaker indicator with sound spectrum animation

Session tiles now show an animated sound spectrum border that responds to live audio levels, making it easier to see who is speaking. The spectrum animates in sync with voice activity and returns to an idle state when participants stop speaking. This improves speaker awareness in multi-person sessions and reduces confusion during active discussions.

YouTube playlist support in video sharing

Instructors can now share YouTube playlists during sessions with synchronized playback for all participants. The video-sharing player loads complete playlists and keeps playback in sync, so all learners see the same content at the same time.

Fixed issues

We made the following fixes:

• Session creation from Moodle LTI: Instructors can now create sessions from the Moodle LTI integration without being limited to quick sessions.
• File upload error modal styling: The file upload error modal now displays with correct colors, borders, and text formatting.
• Audio reception in sessions: We resolved an issue where some learners could transmit audio and see other participants but could not hear anyone in the session.
• Video upload performance: Video uploads now complete faster with a single reload and improved network efficiency.
• Participant icons in layouts: Participant icons now display correctly for both administrators and learners in the session interface.
• Sound spectrum in session replays: The sound spectrum now animates correctly during session replays and shows active speakers throughout the recording.
• Second camera in replays: Session replays now play correctly when second-camera activities were used during the live session.
• Deleted user link generation: The system now prevents login links from being created for deleted users.
• Screen-sharing border in Safari: The blue border now aligns correctly with shared screens in Safari, including when chat or other panels are open.
• Layout selector design: The layout selector now matches the design specifications, and chat mode no longer shows an unnecessary close button.
• Chat notification HTML rendering: Browser notifications for chat messages now show rendered content instead of raw HTML when links are shared.
• YouTube playlist activity loading: YouTube activities that use playlist links now load and start correctly instead of showing an infinite loader.
