Constructor Prism: August 11, 2026

Overview

In this release, we introduced AI course authoring in Prism as a separately licensed capability in the Advanced tier. On tenants without this license, nothing changes, and manual authoring in Prism works as before.

We added the following features:

  • AI course generation
  • Reviewed AI-generated content
  • Shared authoring workspace
  • Agent-generated video activities
  • Publishing AI-generated courses to Learn
  • Exporting AI-generated courses to SCORM
  • Quiz support and score reporting in SCORM packages

What's new

AI course generation

Authors can now create a course with AI in Prism.

From Create with AI, an author describes the course they need, including the topic, audience, and duration, and adds source material as a PDF file or a web link. The agent asks follow-up questions when needed, then creates a course brief for review. After the brief is approved, it generates the outline in the table of contents and builds the course activity by activity. Authors can review each step as it is generated or ask the agent to generate the full course in one go.

Reviewed AI-generated content

AI-generated content is now reviewed before it reaches the author.

After the agent creates a draft, such as an outline, a reading activity, or a quiz, review agents check it from both learning-design and subject-matter perspectives. Their findings are returned to the writing agent, which revises the draft automatically before the author sees it. Review cards remain visible in the chat and show the issues found, together with a Suggestion to the AI writer line for each item.

Shared authoring workspace

The author and the agent now work in the same course workspace.

The chat panel is available next to the course editor, so authors can follow the agent's progress while it works. The chat shows the agent's steps, including the sources it reads and the actions it takes. Changes the author makes in the table of contents or in content blocks are taken into account the next time the agent generates content. The session also remains available after a page reload, so authors can continue from the same point.

Agent-generated video activities

The agent can now create video activities as part of an AI-generated course.

For a video activity, the agent writes the script and generates the video directly in the course. The generated video plays in the course and is also included when the course is exported as a SCORM package.

Publishing AI-generated courses to Learn

AI-generated courses can now be published to Learn in one action.

When authors choose Publish to Learn, Prism creates the Learn course and attaches generated quizzes automatically through the Assess library. If the author edits the course again later, the same AI authoring session reopens in its previous state, and republishing creates the next published version.

Exporting AI-generated courses to SCORM

AI-generated courses can now be exported as SCORM packages.

This supports organizations that deliver courses in an external LMS instead of Learn. The exported package includes the course structure, settings, content, generated video, and quizzes. Authors can also set passing scores for the course and for each quiz before export.

Quiz support and score reporting in SCORM packages

Exported SCORM packages now support quiz delivery, grading, and score reporting.

Within the package, Multiple Choice, Multiple Answers, and Fill in the Blank questions render and grade correctly, and correct answers are shown after submission. Learners can navigate using the course table of contents, leave the package and continue later, and send the resulting score back to the host LMS.

Known issues

  • AI authoring creates new courses only: AI authoring currently builds courses from scratch. It does not yet work with courses that already exist, including courses created in the manual editor.
  • AI-generated courses use media blocks and quizzes only: When AI creates a course, it currently creates media blocks for reading content and quizzes. Content that would suit an assignment or a discussion is still added as a media block for now.
  • Available content blocks in AI-generated courses: AI-generated courses currently support text paragraphs, headings, lists, quotes, tables, dividers, images, formulas, code, and raw HTML blocks. The full manual editor block set, including file attachments, is not yet available in AI-generated courses.
  • Generation sources: AI course generation currently supports PDF files and web links only.
  • Unsupported source files: If an author adds a source file in an unsupported format, Prism discards it without showing an error message. Tracking IDs: LRN-20966
  • Passing score and score weight after publishing to Learn: A course published to Learn can show incorrect passing score and score weight values. Tracking IDs: LRN-21030
  • Publishing a course with an ungenerated quiz: A course can be published to Learn even if a quiz in that course has not been generated yet. Tracking IDs: LRN-21011
