Overview

In this release, we added the following feature:

• Rooms API endpoints

We also fixed issues affecting screen sharing, replays, notifications, session settings, mobile layouts, and language handling.

What's new

Rooms API endpoints

The Groups API now supports creating, viewing, updating, deleting, and searching rooms, with filtering and pagination options. This gives implementation engineers more control over managing virtual classroom spaces programmatically.

Fixed issues

We made the following fixes:

• Screen sharing quality: Screen sharing now starts in high quality, without the initial 2 to 5 seconds of reduced clarity.
• Names with apostrophes: Users can now save names and surnames that include apostrophes in their profile settings.
• Chat message notifications: Notifications for new chat messages now appear correctly when notification settings are enabled.
• Settings page persistence: The settings modal now opens to the first page instead of remembering the last page visited.
• Mobile horizontal view: The Take a break window now fits correctly in horizontal view on mobile devices and supports scrolling.
• Arabic text display: User name shortcuts now display correctly from left to right when the session language is Arabic.
• Question image layout in Safari: Questions with images now display with consistent sizing and spacing in Safari.
• Interpreter assignment notifications: Administrators and instructors who assign themselves as interpreters no longer receive the assignment notification.
• Video activity pause control: Uploaded video activities now pause correctly from the flow panel and when another activity starts.
• Video permission notification in Safari: The video playback permission notification in Safari now appears once without blinking during replay playback.
• User role preservation: Canvas user roles no longer override panel user roles.
• Session loading on mobile: We resolved an issue where some learners saw a continuous loading screen when entering sessions on mobile devices.
• Replay audio and video: Instructor audio and video now appear correctly in replays after extended session time.
• Camera permission modal: The camera permission notification now displays correctly instead of appearing broken.
• Session language for external links: Users joining through external links now see the session in the correct language based on their account settings or the session default.
• Screen sharing notifications: Notifications now appear when screen sharing starts and stops, rather than when the activity is added.
• PDF preview pages: PDF previews now show all pages in the document, not only the pages viewed during the activity.
• Avatar upload size limit: The system now enforces the 50 MB avatar upload limit correctly and prevents black images when the limit is exceeded.
• Room session end control: Only the session host can now end room sessions for all participants.
• Video reconnection notifications: The system now limits repeated error notifications when video streams fail to reconnect.
• Chat input focus: After sending a message with ENTER, the chat input remains focused so users can continue typing.
• Participants list layout: Microphone and camera controls in the participants list now use consistent alignment and grouping.
• Activity field translations: Activity select fields, including second-camera options, now display in the correct language after a session language change.
• Replay video permission prompts: The video playback permission prompt now appears only once during replay, including when playback controls are used.
• Virtual background preview: The virtual background settings now include a preview window with the user's video feed.
• Interpreter modal on mobile: Buttons in the interpreter modal now fit correctly on mobile devices.
• Interpreter button behavior: The interpreter information window now opens and closes consistently from the same button.
• Whiteboard centering: The whiteboard now stays centered when the browser window is resized.
• Dailymotion video links: Users can now add and play Dailymotion videos using both standard URLs and share links.
